Good Morning,

Well it's still cold here the temp. 24 degrees and the high for today around 35 , Oh do I long for spring and the warm days of summer . My first lampwork teacher, Nic East and fellow Penn Dragon posted some pictures to help cheer us up. We all could use a little cheering up from this cold weather. So I thought I would share them with you too . And I will tell you more about Nic , later he is a wonderful multi - talented artist, a true inspiration to everyone who sees his work . But now these are some of the pictures he sent. To cheer up everyone who is still suffering through this cold snap. Glass wing butterflies are as delicate as finely blown glass, rivaling the refined beauty of a stained glass windows. The translucent wings of the glass wing butterfly shimmer in the sunlight like polished panes of turquoise, orange, green, and red. Native to Columbia, Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador, the glass wing butterfly is usually observed feeding or flying high in the sub canopy of the tropical forest in the Andes Mountains. Members of the species, scientifically classified as Godyris duillia, frequently inhabit elevations of approximately 1,400 meters. This information was taken from the following web site if you want to read more about them http://www.olympusmicro.com/micd/galleries/butterfly/glasswingr1.html , They are truly beautiful and such an inspiration to me this morning. Lou
