Stubborn as a Mule

DH had his cardiac cath done and everything went good, thank God but he needs to have surgery again . He has a couple of new blockages and his last surgery was over twenty years ago, but he is refusing to have it done. He said he will just take his chances, I have talked to him , his Doctor talked to him for over and hour but he said he just will not go through it again. He was 42 years old the first time and he was in the hospital for 6 weeks and it was over a year before he could go back to work. I don't know what else to say or do. We have explained the new technology , less hospital time , less recovery time but right now he just doesn't want to here it. And I can tell right now he is not changing his mind. Not tears, threats, or promises is going to help change his mind. I guess praying is the only thing I can do right now. Sometimes he is just as stubborn as an old mule , but I love that old mule.
